Please help us make it a positive and enjoyable visit for your child by doing the following at home before coming in:
Express good feelings to your child about dental visits.
Avoid words that imply unpleasantness such as needle, shot, drill, pull, hurt, etc. Instead, tell your child that it will be a fun and educational experience! We will be using kid-friendly and age-appropriate words to explain every step of the visit.
Let them know that there will be no surprises! Dentist will explain everything as she goes along. Dr. Serena practices with gentle behavior management techniques such as tell-show-do, which involves:
1. Explanation of procedures in phrases appropriate to the developmental level of the patient. (tell)
2. Demonstration of the visual, auditory, olfactory, and tactile aspects of the procedure before starting. (show)
3. Completion of the procedure in a gentle and positive setting. (do)
